Advent Sermon Series Part 2: Christmas Shopping
During this time of year, it’s not too tough to for jealousy to take root. We see what gifts others are buying their families and we can be tempted to try to keep up, or to compare the gifts we receive with the gifts other receives. In 2 Corinthians 10, Paul warns against comparison, instead encouraging contentment in Christ.

Advent Sermon Series: Part 1 Christmas Cookies
Christmas cookies are delicious! That is, unless the recipe gets messed up. I once had some Christmas cookies without sugar. Rather than being delicious, they were bitter. Sometimes, what is true of a messed up cookie can also be true of our messed up lives. We can become bitter. In this message, we discover how to overcome bitterness by the sweetness of God’s grace.

Lessons From the Prophets Sermon Series: Part 2: Isaiah
The
Old Testament Prophets spoke the words that God told them. One might
think that hearing from God would be a good thing. But most prophets suffered
when God’s words hit their mark. During this two week series we’ll learn
about these prophets, hear the words they shared, and consider their struggles.
But God was faithful to them as He is faithful to us. May the words of these
prophets bless us this morning.

Parable of the Stewards Sermon Series Part 3 As God Is, We Ought To Be
In Jesus’ day, any household of distinction had those who managed the affairs and finances of the owner. A good steward could increase the household wealth and stature. A bad steward could destroy it. When Jesus told parables about stewards, the listeners knew what a good steward looked like. Today we will look into being a good steward and dive deep into Jesus’ parables to see how we should manage the gifts that God has entrusted to us.

Back to the Basics of Belief Part 6: The Mission: Evangelism
The call of every Christian is to live beyond themselves. We are to share the hope that we have with the world. When some lepers stumble into an Aramean camp that has been emptied by God, and when they find all sorts of treasure there, they cannot help but share the good news of the treasure with their neighbors. How can we do anything less than share the good news of the gospel with our neighbors?

Back to the Basics of Belief Part 5: The Meal: Lord's Supper
When Jesus celebrates the Passover with His disciples the night before He dies, it becomes more than a Passover. It becomes a promise of His presence. For in, with, and under simple forms of bread and wine is the body and blood of Christ. In this message, we look at the Passover and how Jesus’ death on a cross leads God to not merely pass-over our sins, but to forgive them!

Back to the Basics of Belief Part 4: The Water: Baptism
Christ is the cornerstone of our faith. This means the foundation of our life as the people of God is built upon Him. In this series, we take a look at the teachings of Scripture that comprise the foundation of our faith and see how they center on Christ and shape our everyday lives. In the last chapter of Matthew, Jesus calls us to make disciples in two ways: by teaching His Word and by baptizing in His name. The Ethiopian eunuch becomes a disciple by baptism. Jesus still makes disciples in baptism today!

Back to the Basics of Belief Part 3: The Healing: God's Grace
Today we have a guest preacher from the University of Arizona. Reverend Joshua Palmer leads the LCMS Campus Ministry. Today Pastor Palmer will preach on the 10 Lepers from Luke 17. After Jesus healed them, only one returned. How much like the 10 lepers we are in that we never think about all the blessings that God gives us. But He gives us the greatest blessing in His Son, Jesus, who loves us even when we are unthankful.
