Our History

Fountain of Life Lutheran Church
Tucson, Arizona
Christ Lutheran Vail began as a mission plant of Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in 2004 when a group of like-minded and mission-oriented Christians gathered in the Vail area to ask for God's guidance in starting a new congregation.  As this group gathered for Bible Study and prayer they were led to make their presence known in the community by conducting a Bible Study at Cienega High School.

Pastor David Hook, at that time a second-year seminary student at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, was called to lead the congregation as part of his third-year internship.  During this internship, Christ Lutheran Vail began Sunday morning worship at Cienega High School.  The first worship service was held on November 5th, 2005. When Pastor Hook completed his Master of Divinity degree he was ordained and installed as the first Pastor of the congregation on June 10th, 2007.

In the summer of 2008, the church undertook a planning effort to evaluate the ministry, core values, and strategic objectives.  This resulted in a planning document for the future, Vision2013.

At the beginning of 2010, the congregation undertook its first financial spiritual journey to raise money for a future site.  The process resulted the purchase of the current location along Colossal Cave Road.

In September, 2013, Creation School was launched.
